On Drumsmack TV Episode 14 we played a short video on the making of the new Superman movie percussion soundtrack, featuring previous guest, Toss Panos, then mentioned the 4 new PASIC Hall of Fame inductees for 2013. Lonnie Dawson and Allen Cummins of Dawson’s Gang talked about what they look for in a drummer. Mike Duffy shared his experience going to college with Jeff at University of North Texas and discussed how giving up the drums in college to become a percussionist eventually made him a better drummer. Then to top it all off, Pete Anderson returned to talk about great drummers, his new CD and the upcoming tour. Pete shared a new tune HEARD FIRST right here on Drumsmack TV off his upcoming record called, ‘Rock In My Shoe’. The evening even ended on a live jam session in studio!

    Jeff – you’re one of the greatest drummers I’ve ever heard.
    I’m not “Guilding the Lily” here or trying to score points, I’m saying it because great talents need to hear it again and again to keep them going. You talk about the click – I’ve never heard someone so in the pocket. Your playing is very musical. Examples would be your little solo in “In a Hicktown” or the little rolls into the bridge of “Fake I.D.” I think basic drop dead rhythm is one of the only things you can or cannot be born with. The other guy’s real good but they’re a different level band when you’re playing. Thanks
