Super chill night at the TradioV studio tonight – no live guest. But, while we had no live guest, we had lots of live viewers. Even had a Twitter shout out from Roland’s Drew Armentrout. Tonight we recapped our fantastic 2015 NAMM Show experience that happened a few weekends ago down in Anaheim, CA.

In fact, we’d like to specifically thank The Lippin Group for showing us such a good time!

To kick off the night, we jumped right into an interview with the astounding Roy Burns of Aquarian Drumheads. We probably already told you (because it’s so unbelievable) but this year was Roy’s fifty-fifth NAMM experience! Wow! Then we spoke with product development expert Jamie Harris – all thanks to Chris Brady, of course.

After that we welcomed Iki Levy of Soultone Cymbals and DC California Drums. He walked us through what they were showcasing on the fantastically noisy showroom floor.

Then we had a chance to tuck away up at the Monster Products booth on floor 3 at the Hired Gun movie signing event. While we were there we bumped into Glen Sobel from the Alice Cooper Band – who you probably saw on the show in January on DSTV Episode 78. He filled us in on playing behind Alice, but also about being the “house band” for a few charity events. Fascinating stuff.

Then we turned around and walked right into Kenny Aronoff! Fortunately, he was down to chat. He gave us the key to surviving NAMM – hire someone to push you through, follow your schedule, make lists, move fast and get done what you set out to. In case you didn’t know, Kenny played at the White House Inauguration. That’s pretty dope.

Finally, we met up with Patrick Kennedy at the Roland booth to talk about V-Drums, new acoustic triggers and all sorts of fun gadgets with making your kit more of a “hybrid.” Patrick actually showed us how these tools work on a kit they had set up on the floor. Check it out!

If you missed us at the 2015 NAMM Show and want us to stop by next year, drop us a line here – we’re excited to connect.
